Default Is this dealer for real?

Just contacted a dealer, with a view to getting my indicator cancelling sorted.......sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Sounds like the cancelling bit is worn. Something I used to repair myself on Escorts etc, before the advent of the airbag

He quoted my £260+VAT for parts

And fitting extra.

Has anyone else had this done, and is that price right?

Not a dealer in Scuuny is it. I didn't think anyone there had the technical ability for such a big job.

What are you on? A SUBARU dealer in Scunny? You MUST be crackers!

Nearest is 30 miles

We've plenty of people who can, and do, work on Scoobs, but I wanted the price of parts, so phoned a dealer. I think I must have accidentally been put through to that well known Subaru service centre at the well known dealership of "Senior-Cummin"

Is it after turning/indicating left? I heard that some of the MY98/MY99 cars had the steering rack fitted upside down (oh yes) and that is what caused the indicator cancellation problem. Some folks cars were fixed under warranty back then.

Nah, it's both. Was OK when I got it, (had it from new), and even after I'd had the bumpsteer mod, but recently..... Wear, I think

Alcazar,

why don't you fit the part yourself ?? no risk of damaging the airbag system if you remove the earth from the batt ?

I had a problem with my airbag about a year ago, didn't have any issues taking it apart and re-assembling myself ?

I had thought of diy, but a) it's too fekkin cold, b) my garage is full of bikes, kid's stuff etc, and c) I STILL think £260+VAT is too much for the part, esp as it'll be a little plastic collar etc, and it apparently doesn't come seperate

Do as BMW, Merc & Audi drivers and don't use the fekkin indicators.

Sorry, doesn't help you but I feel better
