Angry Macintyre - Wembley footie sting programme last night.

I missed the first two thirds of the show but it is a similar format to previous stings he has done.

What struck me and shocked me was that they would get these gullable crims along on the pretence of whatever, arrest them and then they mostly got bailed straight away.

Now most of the scumbags i saw had already failed to report or turn up at court so they have a history of no-shows.

So WHY are they then bailed again?

Should they not be remanded until their court dates instead of being let out?

Examples i can think of was a drug dealer and someone who committed robbery and some sort of violence.

Two of the areas that are supposed to be cracked down on!

What a fecking joke our laws and courts are especially in the light of the little girl run down, killed and left for dead and a derisory 12 week sentence handed out!

It must have gotten better as I watched the start and they were stinging nothing but those with driving offences.

Thumbs down

I don't mind Channel 5 wasting tens (or even hundreds) of thousands of pounds putting on an "entertainment show". If it catches a few crims at the time then all the better

However, did it really justify the couple of dozen police (uniformed, undercover, backup etc.) to arrest a few, lets face it, low end criminals. Sure, driving without insurance or whilst banned is bad - but isn't that what ANPR is supposed to miraculously fix?

I think that "sting" type programs will soon become as effective as ASBOs, and scum will start to brag about "being on TV" to their mates

Spend the money on more, bigger and less cushy jails, and the problems will go away all by themselves!
