Any ideas if the high occupancy lane will be the 4th (outside) lane? If so there's going to be a lot of under taking going on in the third

Dr Ladyman "hopes" the dedicated lane for vehicles carrying more than 2 people, will encourage car sharing.....WTF, no survey to ask the public if they will use it!!!
40MPH limit is a joke 2. It's hard enough to do 50 in the roadworks, 40MPH is taking the p*ss.
Anyone want to borrow my blow up passenger?!

They have been doing this for a while now. All the trees have been cut down and farmers fields have been reduced in size etc. Also looks like they are adding another junctions and widening entry roads etc.
I like this bit the best;
I lift share ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
- wow! I can't even do that now!
I like this bit the best;
The four-lane section will have a dedicated lane for vehicles carrying two or more people during peak hours.
It is hoped this will encourage car-sharing.

When they widened the M40 to 4 lanes a few years ago they had a 40mph limit and narrow lanes for about a year. There were so many serious accidents and fatalities I started going across country instead!

Education is what is needed. Bring back the TV adverst "keep left unless overtaking".
Incorporate it into the driving test.
Ram it home!! (so to speak).
Widening the carriageway will only serve to further "shift" most people 1 extra lane to the right, oblivious to anything or anyone.
If everybody had lane discipline then traffic james would be minimal compared to what they are.

Education is what is needed BEFORE expensive widening schemes.

If you have driven this stretch of road in the morning, then going above 40mph is just a dream. So I dont think they'll be getting much money from me!
