Car selling/ buying

I've got a situation coming up this week as i'm selling my car, the buyer is selling his car to a dealer so i expect he'll get a cheque from them?
Now i'm also buying a car (private sale) for around the same price as i'm selling mine but can't afford to lay my hands on that amount of cash until i get paid for mine.
I need a car to get to - from work every day so i can't sell mine/ wait till the cheque clears/ pay for my new one/ wait till cheque clears before i pick it up.
The buyer for mine is about an hour away but the seller of my new 1 is about 2.5 hours away.
Whats the best way of sorting this out? do i ask the buyer of mine to get a bankers draft payable to the seller of my new 1 (is there any risk in this)?
because we all live far apart it's not possible to arrange a meeting together at a bank
any help/ ideas welcome![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
cheers

TT? (something transfer?)
doing a search on these forums it seems phone transfers can sometimes be cancelled, bankers drafts can be stolen, so is cash the only 100% safe way (unless the notes are counterfeit)?

so i could get the buyer of my car to transfer direct to the seller of my new car ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
can this be done at a weekend (verified?) - if it shows on an online statement as being paid in is this safe from the payee withdrawing it again?
