Default Legal MP3 downloads

Hi there - wanted some advice on where best to go for legal music downloads...here's my list of criteria:

1) MP3 format;
2) Min 192 bitrate, ideally 320;
3) No DRM;
4) Cheap as legally possible;
5) Large catalogue.

I've looked into:

iTunes - fails on 2,3,4 (rip off in my view);
AllofMP3 - fuzzy on 4, perfect on the rest;
Napster - depends on membership type, but WMA with DRM, unless you pay 79/p track. Still only 128K.

So...any other cunning suggestions for me to go and look at?

Cheers

I don't see the problem with allofmp3 - perfectly legal and I challenge anyone to find a cheaper provider.

ozzy - virgin digital fails on a number of points, namely wma format, 128k encoding.

As for Woolworths - very poor selection (unless you like Chico that is!)

As for Tesco - even worse - WMA, DRM protected and not compatible with iPod. Magnificent!

Keep those suggestions coming!!

Hi SiDHEaD - not sure I get what you mean on that comment? AllofMP3 charge by the Mb, but my view after reading about it was that:

a) it may/may not be legal in this Country - lots and lots of conflicting views, on this board and elsewhere, so on that basis I'd rather steer clear;

b) how much of the cash goes to the artists - one would suspect not much!

Anyway, any good suggestions that meet all the criteria, yet are better value than iTunes?

If your objection to downloading illegal MP3 is due to your moral obligation to support the artists and industy you are enjoying - do not use allofmp3.com

If you happy to convince yourself its all OK and actually dont care about where your money goes then go ahead.

I'm hoping it funds organised crime. The internet is about 3 things 1) ****, 2) free tunes (for me especially remixes not commercially available) 3) forums.

Viz pointed out that all illegal mp3 sites are run by drug dealers and villains. So you should always buy legally so that the money goes to the recording artists who then can spend the money on...... Oh, OK, no difference so cut out the middleman.

Bit torrents are ****. Donwload bearshare for albums and movies and limewire for individual tracks and **** and programme files. When you download limewire search for the program limewire pro download and install. With pro no adverts and excellent speeds.

"When you download limewire search for the program limewire pro download and install"

I find that very funny, I wonder if the Limewire developers do.

Aside from the legality issue of Bearshare (because it isn't legal - read the small print and the FAQ), any program that has a) been proved to install adware and spyware and b)by default, opens up folders on my machine to the Internet - will not be let within a million miles of my PC!

DC++ - and there's tons of legal stuff on there (and lots of **** woohooo).

If i had money to waste I would use AllOfMp3 tho. V good site, know a few people who use it - but for the amount of stuff I get i would bankrupt myself - also lots of my remixed stuff just isn't available on legal sites.
