Default Pink to Red Paint

Hi All,

I have a Car which has red paint but is suffering from v.

The paint looks quite 'pinky' instead of red.

Could you recommend the best way of getting rid of this, i guess it would be best to get an orbital polisher but what sort of chemicals should i use to wear this oxidisation down, is there any good sites that sell these tools, explain the process.

Any help would be fantastic.

Cheers

Edd

G30 compound and a proper polisher, use plenty of water with it though as it will go straight through the paint if you get it too hot..

followed by a good polish like autoglym or meguiars gold

Yup, bit of Farecla G30, good clean polishing mop and loads of water! For a really good finish you could go round with some T-cut by hand too and then get a load of good wax on to protect your hard work!

Keep the cutting polishes off any black plastic and rubber seals.

found that the meguiars scratch x is really good for removing swirl marks if you are after a show finish..

Thanks for the info, anyone know where i can buy a good compound(G30?), and a good robital polisher, not sure if the £20-£30 ones from halfrauds are up to the job of my pink citroen ZX Volcane!!!

Any links or advice would be great!!

Cheers Edd

Try your local motor factors. A bodyshop may even sell you a tin if you ask nicely!

local bodyshop factors will do both, think a decent polisher would be about 80quid, but you can hire them from some hire shops, have a ring around..

the sort that you want looks like a large angle grinder, and will have a couple of speeds..
