changing old driving license for a new one
i still have my old pink and green paper one but i am reluctant to get the new photo one. it is stapled glued and falling to bits but i am finding it hard parting with it
if you have the new one then you cant pretend to be someone else..not that i would
who still has their old one?

I've still got mine - the dog chewed mine!! 
Must get round to changing it over sometime, as it's in my old address - been in the new address for 5 yrs now

Sarah, if your so attached to it just say you've lost it and apply for a replacement one. That way, you get the new one but get to keep your old one, and even frame it if you wish 
lol

Ive still got my provisional! Ive been legal to drive for nearly a year but havent got round to getting a new photo done yet to send off for my full licence (my provisional i was 18 with blonde hair and now i am a bit older looking and have black hair)

Still got my paper one, its open out into about ten different pieces and is three different colours as well.
Had a producer as few years back, took it to the police station, passed it over + insurance docs, They took one look at my driving liscence, laughed and told me to go away ! Result !

Mine was in about 9 different pieces....but with sellotape it was as good as new..........Unfortunatley i was forced to hand it over to the appropriate authorities... who kindly gave me a nice new one 9 months later.....

Those f'ing new ones - great, it's a card now BUT YOU'VE STILL GOT A PAPER SECTION of it. WTF? That's f'ing progress, eh! Two things to carry around. And does the paper bit fold into a card-sized arrangement so it fits in your wallet? Does it ****!
Wouldn't suprise me if the new passports/id cards etc. also comprise a card and a huge bit of paper too.

I ran around on a pass cert for some time, interestingly enough, i was advised that untill you change it, technically you dont have a full licence. And you could give your insurance company probs..
i did it a few years back, you need to send in passpoert piccys etc, i cant remember what it cost
