Having asked for your advice, I though I'd give you a quick update. We two are now three, and it's Lexi who is the star! He's a two year old (vet's estimate!) rescue Lurcher who's history we know nothing of, but he's been an absolute sweetie today since arriving. Time for a few pics, I reckon!

I can't get over how gorgeous he is!! (This is from a dog agnostic, don't forget!)

awwww hes gorgeous
I had greyhounds a few yrs back, racing ones and we would get people asking us to take in abandoned and mistreated greyhounds and lurchers, I don't know how people can be cruel to them they are lovely natured dogs, very timid even when treated well but they are great dogs.

no wonder the pikeys have them! tough as old boots!
only prob...your dog seems to be sat on a human sofa?????? mine wouldnt even dream of looking at my sofa let alone sitting on it....give it a slap! what next? helping itself to your beer?

LOL I remember you keep yours in the utility, but Lexi found the sofa seconds after arriving!
And there's no doubt lurchers love their comfort!
All the examples we've seen so far the lurchers have found themselves a comfy spot.
Oh, and just to freak you out even more, Tiggs, he had some diced steak this evening!![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
Yup. t'was bribery to help him settle!

sure there is a post your dog pics thread somewhere.
Your Lurcher is a real beauty V5 i love that mottled/stripey colouring you can get on lurchers/whippets/greyhounds.
Treat them by all means but be careful about pandering to them to help them get settled in. It sets up something they think is gonna continue. Just treat em fair and constant. nothing a dog loves more than good routine.
here is my collie-cross (with what we are not sure...possibly with some sort of greyhound?) Rescued at 9 months, he has been just wonderful ever since!

that was when we first got him about 2 years ago.
