Default One for the Film Buffs....

Does anybody know of a film starring Robert deNiro and the title has the word "Glen" in it?
Its quite an old film and i have'nt a clue what its about.
i heard two guys in the video shop talking about it last night and they were going on about how good it was but they could never find it, but i didnt want to be a nosy bugger and ask the guy behind the counter, its been bugging me ever since
I really like deNiro Films, thats why i'd like to see it.

Are you confusing DeNiro with Pacino?

Glengarry Glen Ross

I've seen it. Great film..especially if you've ever worked in sales. Terrific cast (although no De Niro!).. Al Pacino, Jack Lemmon, Ed Harris, Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin (never better than in this).. It is like watching a (good) play rather than a piece of cinema. Well worth seeking out.

It's like watching a good play because it's a film of a play, GLENGARRY GLENROSS by DAVID MAMET the famous playright http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000519/
if you like glengarry, checkout HEIST after, very much in the same vein, with some awesome dialogue.

That would be because it is a play (by David Mamet). One quick warning: don't watch it with anyone who is easily offended - it probably has more swearing than any other film. But it has some of the best acting you will ever see.

If you like De Niro because of Taxi Driver, Goodfellas, Godfather etc you might not like Glengarry Glenross (even though he is not in that one)

Its a bit slow and tedious IIRC.

Nah, i just like De Niro as an actor (even though he is clearly NOT in Glengarry Glenross ), i've a fairly open mind to films so i can watch most things except romantic comedy!
It sounds like its fairly similar to a film called Boiler Room (i think thats the name) with Ben Affleck, it was about the pressure's put on high flying salesman and the pressure they put on the buyer. It was a good film and it sort of changed my mind about Afflecks acting, even if he is a d**k.

who's Gill? Don't remember that character.

Boost ll "A BIT SLOW AND TEDIOUS" Not enough car chases in it for you?

and comparing Ben Afleck with the cobined talents of Mamet and Pacino, you want your head examined

The down and out guy in the simpsons. Marge got a job in real estate and the boss gave her one of Gills office partitions.

He has also appeared as a car sales man.

It's a rather good film, and I also agree about Heist, very good indeed.
