Default Anyone been to Goa?

What was it like?
Would you recommend?

I'm thinking of going by myself next week and would like advice and suggestions of where to go, stay and all that.

Thanks

Esh

Great place, cheap, chilled , great beaches, great food, try the shark and King Fish especially done in garlic and butter, the food on the beach is also fantastic and cheap as chips.

Always grabbed 6 veggie samosas on the way to the beach each day, freshly made and about 50p for the 6

Try Baga beach and the huge Market and always barter.

Thumbs up

Yes, went to Benaulim a few years back. It's in southern Goa and was (at least then) virtually unspoilt. Very very nice, very cheap too.

We spent 3 months in India 5 years back on honeymoon. A week or two of that was in Goa. Really liked Palolem with it's palm fringed beach and dining tables on the sand at night. Stray dogs were a pain in the ar$e though.

It's the only place I've been to on holiday more than once (three times now) - love it! Great people, proper tropical paradise beaches (although with the odd sureal cow), really cheap.

You do get a bit of 'hassle' from people trying to sell you cheap stuff, but they're not agressive at all, just a bit persistant!

Hi
Dont forget - you will need a visa to go to Goa!
You can get one from the Indian High Commission in Birmingham - while you wait - but it takes a whole day!
Cheers

Great place
Will certainly go back sometime. The people, the food, the beaches and most definately the transportation have to be experienced at least once.

Goa..

What a place have been 5 times now.

If you want info on where to go what to do PM me, i have a few friends there that can take care of anything you want.

Would go soon though, as it is becomming more well known as a holiday spot, and unfortunatly will turn into the next Spain i believe. Too many English people knowing about it.

Regards

Cookie

Hi guys,

never been Goa but if you want something a bit more secluded then try further south in Kerala - great place!

Why Indian High COmmission are you going to? Birm or London? -

I'll be going to one in london. Why?

I'll be there for two weeks so I'll stay in the north one week then go to the south.

Cheers

Esh - good choice - stay well clear of the Birmingham office. Unfortunately I'm going tomorrow for the family. The Brum office is a typical case of people on a power trip!

Have a good trip!
