Unhappy Who is it just murdered Curtis Mayfields 'Move on up'

I heard a new version with some muppet rapping over the top.

It is a great tune and someone had the tumerity to do this to it.

Criminal charges should follow!

It is on a par with the rapper who redid that Texas song (which i cannot remember the name of)

Rant over and gone lookin' for me heart pills!

And did we all know that the lead guitarist on "Move on up" and also on the same group's "Who's that Lady?" also played with The Jimmi Hendrix Experience?

"That Lady".........wot a song, with an instrumental version on the flipside

The fact remains : The oldies are the goodies, how so ever they are regurgitated.

Do you really like rap Paul?

I've heard it a couple of times and quite like it.

Prefer the original though...

I like good music, rap included. Just not poor remixes of a classic tune with a poor attemt to make it 'modern'. I am a big fan of LL Cool J for instance. One of the first records i bought was Rappers Delight by the Sugarhill Gang, and also White Lines by Grandmaster Flash and the FF.

I have no problems with good remixes of old tunes.

I like good rap music, music with an edge not just poor attempts at making money. Try listening to 'Move on Up' the original version then play this new mix and see what you think.

Seems par for the course these days, no real talent or originality just complete blatant covers of old songs very poor IMHO! I heard two dance tracks the other day within 10 mins, one was a rip of the police message in a bottle and the other was using tainted love by soft cell, both ****e! I used to love rap back in the 90s at least they used to use something abit more obscure as the backing tracks like they at least 'tried' to craft the song, ahhh memories, rob base and ez rock, cashmoney and marvelous, big daddy kane, *decent* rap records!
