Default question for tv buffs...

when running my antenna co-ax through a multi media pc using windows xp media centre, why are some channels jumpy and sticky and some not...?

i know its probably got something to do with the signal strength, so i got an antenna booster, but that hasnt made much difference...

im at a loss to understand why running it through the pc makes so much difference to the signal...its fine when run straight into the tv...?!?!

any ideas as im starting to get very frustrated at having paid 1100 quid for something that doesnt seem to be working very well...

thanks in advance...

A friend of mine has a media centre and channels can look glitchy and jerky- like when watching rugby and F1.
Could be down to the tv card or the PC doing too much of something else.
Sounds like a PC trying to run a game its struggling with.
More RAM maybe?

Or a better graphics card, maybe? You may be better posting this in the PC section for more accurate results.

It's probably signal strength. Just using a set-top box for Freeview, I get very jumpy pictures, particularly with F1 and other fast-moving scenes. Not enough info for the digital tuner to create a smooth flowing picture. Analogue would just show a bit of "snow" or shadowing but the digital break-up is far worse.
