Mark Germino
He's excellent! I got his first three albums on vinyl and the 4th on CD. Been around since '86 but couldn't get arrested here in the UK. Shame...

Cheers

Am I right in thinking that those of you into Porcupine Tree have got DVD-A players? They seem to be one of a very small number of bands ever to release rock music on that format, sadly.

Don't know about 'best band', but The Subways are well worth a listen. They got over shadowed last year by the success of bands like Kaiser Chiefs.

Agree with Marcus about Oui3, very under rated.

Faktion - kinda softer version of Linkin Park

Disbelief - tuneful death metal. Is there such a thing?

Misery Inc. - another very good metal band.

From the 60's/early 70's:

Amazing Blondel....saw them supporting "Free" in Birmingham, they got an encore, Free didn't.

Cradle of the Modern Spirit.........first band I saw where the lead guitarist could play lead on a Sitar

Both bands from Scunny, btw.

Elliott Smith - the best singer-songwriter I've heard and so cool.

The Bolshoi - 80s band who were somehow overlooked.

Yeah, I have In Absentia and Deadwing on DVD-A. It's amazing the first time you hear a studio album mixed in 5.1... it's like being stood in the middle of the group.
