I have a 12 month phone contract with orange. My phone stopped working on friday 3 days before the 6 month warranty out. They sent a new phone that was also faulty, this was returned and another sent out on Monday. This was again faulty!
I have just spoke to orange tonight who say i now have to take out cover or they wil not replace the phone as its outside the 6 months warrantry.
They also told me i agreed to take out the cover when i last spoke to them, this is untrue.
I was also told i had been charged 70 pounds but they would be willing to refund this if i took out the cover!!
I was never told about the 70 pounds or the extra 30. To say i am mad is an understatement
They are willing to wave the 70 pounds and the 30 pounds if i take out insuance for 12 months.
I asked to be passed to the manager but was told i could not escalate the matter, i have been with orange for 10 years..this is my last
I am waiting for orange to call back in a few mins but i am unsure what i should do...any ideas folks
Sorry if this makes no sence but i am blazing

1) dont get even more wound up chasing them/ranting on the phone.
2) Put it all in writing (try to be factual rather than abusive no matter how tempting it is)
3) tell them you require them to prove that you agreed to the charges
4)threaten small claims court
5) sit back and relax

The original fault was reported within the 6 month warranty period anyway. The fact that two other phones were dispatched as replacements and were found to be faulty does not detract from this.
Orange trying their best to make some extra money. What a joke.
Already lost my new business reading this so it just goes to show what negative publicity does irrespective of the value(s) involved.

My friend who is a builder and needs his phone has had five 6230i's in 3 months, the first one was new, all the subsequent phones have been refurbed, Orange care has been a shower of ****, but in all honesty probably no worse than any other major retailer.
Buy from a local dealer, deal face to face and threaten violence if it goes **** up.
Works every time.

Orange try this a bit.
Stay in control.
Remind them their not above the law. (Although they think they are and will reply as such)
Ask to speak to a supervisor (You'll get told there's not one available)
Remind them you have statutory rights. (this shocks them)
Remind them that you can reasonably expect a mobile phone to work for (Enter your time here), (I would expect an electrical item such as a phone to work about 4-5 years, but would expect you to make your own judgement.)
When they say that they'll carry out a warranty replacement for a cost of £15, remind them again of the statement you made regarding life expectancy.
Now might be a time to remind them you've been a loyal customer for 10 years.
Should this not be enough (which I doubt it will, Orange assume they are so far above the law you'll not try to do anything) give them a polite reminder that they are in fact in breach of your statutory rights. And ask them to correct this at their earliest convenience.

They may also remind you that you are under contract... if they do, remind them...THEY are under contract as well.. to provide you with a phone FIT for purpose....or THEY are in breach

Orange are total $hite, I was with them for over 10 years. 1 month before the end of my contract the phone packs in (6230). As i thought i could get an upgrade in one month i used my sons old phone.
Come upgrade time they tell me that there upgrade terms have changed and it would cost me £150 to change phone.
I tried everything to get a free upgrade, they didn't want to know and said it would be better to go to another provider and get one free. Which I did.
T-Mobile had some cracking deals, a better contract and a brand new phone, for less money!
Tell them to shove it.
