Bugger, just got Sky+ about a month ago.

Still, means I don't have to fork out for a HD TV now.

That's not what the email says. Only true if you have 2 prem channels.

Oops...yes, my mistake.

However, given Sky Sports & Movies are two of the main HD channels, then I guess it'd be unlikely you'd take HD without them.....

I totally agree.

I never watch sport or movies, I would be buying it for the sky one and E4 programmes, and they don't really warrant HD.

IMHO, it is a total waste of money.

Have to say the box is probably a ton overpriced for me, and defo don't want to pay another £10 per month, especially when my football is watched at the pub

don't mind the money for the box but I'm not paying the extra tenner as the cost is of sky is pushing it already

will wait a bit , without doubt they will have to drop this charge eventually if they want it to take off

You didnt read it right. Its available to everyone with Sky and those who have a HD Ready set and subscribe to SKY for their HD Subscribtions.

The part about not being available to everyone is about Freeview, there is not enough airspace to send HD Signals through freeveiw but they'll be trialing it in sections of London. We wont get HDTV through freeview at least til 2010-2012 IMO when the old terrestrial signals get turned off creating space for HD.

Recently bought a HD TV but think I will stick to regular Sky+ for now as the price for SkyHD is sure to drop later this year.
