I think the chemistry between the workers is no where near the original version, but they haven't done a bad job in general with it, they could have done a lot worse (see: Pink Panther)

It has turned into a far better series, very funny, and hopefully it will be a long term series due to it's popularity.
Just to add, season 2 is where it really gets good. And I think the characters are turning out better. Dwight K Schrute for one.

Yeah, I agree, haven't seen last nights yet, but I watch it every week after Earl and think it is in the same ball park as the original, but wouldn't class it as better, but very good!

Not sure what UK channel it airs on, but I 2000TLondon is probably talking about a yank channel (CBS or something) I would guess, as I too watch Earl, and then ignore the Office. Couldn't stand the UK version, and have seen about 10 mins of the US version and it's the usual crap that occurs when the US remakes a UK show (Coupling anyone?)
Now, Earl, that is US programming at it's best

Yep the yanks have destroyed yet another great british comedy mind you americans just dont do sit coms well at all IMO... The only thing they got right was Friends (am I really saying this) but I have not enjoyed any other "comedy" offering from over the pond in my life... They should stick to films and big kahoona burgers...

Friends was ok up until the end of the second season, after that I lost interest. Coupling was, I think, based on friends, but more risque, and far better.
They are *still* doing Survivor, which is just so crap. If I was trying to survive on an island I'd kill the others and eat them, but you can't do that, it's not allowed. pah!
Canadain TV shows are a little bit better than the yank stuff, they seem to get irony and british humor, which I like.

Cheers
The Simpsons
Seinfeld
2 & 1/2 men
My name is Earl
The Fresh Prince
And I know you said films but British comedy films are absolute rubbish compared to some of the US comedy films.
