Big Brother has got his own way
Well the start of the Na** labour party has begun.
40 odd years after winning freedom and freeing europe from a dictator, our resident one has by stealth lies and subterfuge ensured that this and definatly the next generation will become a number in the system.
http://newsbox.msn.co.uk/article.asp...=5&ml=ma&lc=en
how long before the barcode on the arm or the chip in the neck becomes the preffered method??
the usual war on terror will be peddeled out, and we all know thats a joke..
so when the next atrocity is carried out, how exactly will this system work??
how can it prevent terrorism. in short it cant,
its all about controll, what do you expect from the red factor.
look at some of the parralells from the iron curtain...
dedicated bus / car lanes to aid the elite in 2012, want to bet they will become the ministerial escape routes, (to combat terrorism of course)
cameras everywhere (for your safety) ?? how does a camera ensure my safety ffs
how long before the work camps arrive, or the ****** squads?
the rot has definatly started, goodbye freedom

Spain has had a national identity card scheme for years and that did sweet fa to stop the train bombings by Muslim fanatics. Not to mention the years of eta attacks, so thats that one new labour lie up the ****.
Also cracking down on benefit fraud, how ffs are these cards going to determine how many of the 2.75 million on dla are faking work shy scroungers(These lot will probably get theirs id cards free, whilst we pay £110 for ours). The biometric scanning has been showed to be flawed yet they still plough ahead, It will just turn out to be another new labour disaster
any way were id cards not scrapped in 1952 because they were ineffective

"However, it also goes towards meeting the concerns of those who have argued that the card itself should not be compulsory at this stage by allowing those who apply for or renew their passport before 1 January 2010 to 'opt out' of being issued the ID card itself, even though their identity details will be entered on to the register."
Looks like I'm going to have to renew my current passport 3 years early then!

Slowly giving up caring.Criminals don't get punished, innocent people feel guilty,it is the politicians who stir up terrorist hornet nests then run off telling everyone they might get blown up.And for good measure I'm sick of Sunday shop opening, too much traffic 24/7,men becoming women and women becoming men.
I hate Thursday's too

Fortunately the Tories have said they woudl repeal the law if they get in to power, let's just hope that NL haven't pissed billions up the wall before it does get thrown out.

It is revealing of course that they don't tell us the full truth about all the information which will be on the data base about each of us and how they will use it.

He said it meant "nobody who does not want an ID card need have one before the next election - and that in itself is worth having" - but he added a Conservative government would still repeal the legislation.
Surely it should say.
"ANYBODY who does not want an ID card need NOT have one before the next election"
Or has the English language changed since I have been out of the country?

What exactly are you afraid of with these new cards?
I can't understand what the problem is. If you own a car, have a mortgage, credit cards or whatever, the stored information about you is already massive. How can carrying a personal identity card affect you in any way?
I'm all for any measure that stops, or goes some way to preventing, criminals and illegals from operating in my country.
It's only once you travel you realise that this really is a great country in the big scheme of things.
