i met a nice copper today
well, TBH he was a complete ****
apparently i was to close to his private car a few days ago when following him, even though i was doing the limit, so he waited until he was on patrol and followed me to the post office where i do my daily banking.
noticed a green focus with 2 people behind me and when i pulled into a parking space they dived in a few cars back, off to the post office door i go when i here
"excuse me FELLA"
anyway he asks if i am banking so i tell him yes and he informs me that they want a chat with me when i come out the post office
after about 10 mins i am out the office and wander over to there car, where i am told to pop in the back
i then get the bollocks about being to close when he was off duty and i was to close, he also informs me that i nearly hit a cyclist a few days ago as well, although he cant really remember where the cycle incident took place as it was "a few days ago"
i am given a verbal warning and he starts with the whole
"i could be a right **** if i wanted to"
"you are using your car on business use"
"did you know you cant do that"
"what happens if you get mugged on the way there you cant claim on your car insurance"
me :"i also have large traders policy covering me to and from the daily banking areas"
he does not like that
and then informs me that they will be searching my person and car, "because most people who do banking for business have weapons or such to protect them"
i am searched and they pull the fecken scoob apart, spare wheel out, the lot
they don't find anything, i am given my producer and then this bloke tells me it was him on the cycle but he cant remember where, while the producer is being done, they ask where i work, when i explain it is just around the corner,
"ahh that's where i have seen the car before"
WTF?????
NOT WHEN I NEARLY HIT YOUR CYCLE OR TAILGATED YOU IN A 30 MPH ZONE
they let me go and i went back to work, later on they came back in and told me they had forgot to give me my form about the search they did.
handed me the form, i asked what i was supposed to do with it and i was told i could "chuck in in the bin if you want"
they leave, i read it and i have been searched for "stolen property"
the *******!!!!!!!
another reason why i just love to hate the useless *******s!!

You should make a complaint about the officer as he can not do that. When I was 17 I was threatened by a copper that he was going to wait outside work for me in 3 days time and nick me if I hadn't made the changes to my car that he had demanded I do. I told him to shove it and went straight to the police station and made an official complaint about him. Funnily enough never saw him again anywhere near my work or had any trouble from the police over my car. In fact 16 years later its still in the same condition (my sister owns it) and never been stopped once by the police.
There are bad apples in every profession. Unfortunately its only the w4nkers in the police that you meet because the decent ones don't stop you for absolute rubbish so you never meet them.

he is a fecken sarge!!!!!!!
i have his number
TBH i can do without this ****** following me about, and hammering me whenever he sees me on the roads.
best not to cause a stir, one of my staff got pulled on the way into work once, gave the copper a bit of grief and then ended up getitng pulled the next few nights by coppers waiting for him to leave work

Not sure I would've got into the back of an unknown car without good reason either.

i left the door slightly ajar, i was also searched in the back of the car, and they checked my socks for "a knife"

wtf??
i told him that not so long ago a cyclist had actualy hit my car and buggerd off and i was told that there are bad people in both groups, cars and cyclists

Next thing will be that we wont be able to drive on the same hallowed tarmac that cyclists use for free and we pay for. As an aside, have you got a hoover at your work to suck up water? Need my carpet done got a lovely puddle in it.
Not a good pic but you get the idea.

Micky,
Report him, simple as that. If he continues to harass you after you after that, then escalate things, take it to the local chief of police, contact the local rags/radio/tv and say you're being harassed by the police.
Don't let him get away with it. It's coppers like this that give honest coppers a bad name.

You should go complain, i see that as harrassment if you did annoy him when he was off duty he should of done something about it there and then. You cant just "find" someone a few days later and search you because you initially was too close to his car!!

You know, I've always considered joining the force, but numpties like this prevent me from taking the next step towards doing so - it's a joke.

id usually jump to the defence of the police being in a similar line of work myself, but there is absolutely no excuse whatsoever for an abuse of his authority of this kind...
it simply has to be reported or nothing will ever get done about it...

i will sleep on it tonight and have a think about it, i have made a complain back in the past about an arsehole copper who was kicking off with me and TBH it got me nowhere
i walked out the station thinking it was a waste of time
same when i complained about a "parking enforcement" officer who told me he had video footage of me doing burn outs down the coast

If you write to the Chief Constable then youre more likely to get a result than you are if you speak to the man's supervisory officer.

I'll echo those who say 'report him'.
I reported a copper who's driving had put me in mortal danger. No witnesses just me and him. I made the complaint online and within a month I'd received a letter of apology and a phone call from the Head of Traffic for Surrey reiterating his apology for his officer's behaviour. They will take note, but you have to complain first!
Don't let this **** get away with it!

I think you would be totally right to complain about his behaviour .... I would if it happened to me - and I do his job, the same rank and all !!!
If there was something wrong with your driving and it was really that bad he should have merely filled in a report and had it passed to the relevant department who could look at it and see if it was worthy of prosecuting you.
I do not think it is not ethical to do what he did in the way he did and I have no time for it.
I would be interested to know what was written as the grounds for searching you and the car ....

This is the problem with local businesses today. You are too lazy to protect your own interests. In my day you had a local copper on the payroll. Any of this nonsense he'd have to sort out and by God he did! He had a family he wanted to protect, just like the rest of us.
Being pulled over outside the post office like a two bit kerb crawler, I ask you! An affront. A ******* embarrassment.
Get it sorted or people will take liberties for the rest of your life son.

Follow him. Find out his routine then get a group of mates whilst hes off duty and do him one night. Job done.
also, how to they search you in the back of a car???
i'd have told them to **** off.

edited to say:
if he did think you were too close to him, then there may be some truth in this.
seems a weird thing to accuse you off, when they could have just accused you of anything and searched you.
maybe your driving style might change for the better, now you've been busted.
