Easy to use but in the car would get loads if interference.
Got myself a proper Kenwood headunit and adaptor, now use the stereo to control the Ipod now.

Unfortunately there is no real solution for the Audi RS6 system. Most owners seem to fit the 'phatnoise' media player but I really don't want to have to reencode everything etc. I just want to be able to use my 60gb ipod.

I found it great for using with the radio in the house etc. but not so good in the car as I don't think it liked all the metal around. However, a friend had one made by some other company that put out a bit more power and he had no problems at all using it in his car. Also my iTrip is quite old and doesn't have a display so I don't know if the newer ones have more power out of them.

I used to think my iTrip was crap as I could hardly get it to work -- until I uncapped the EU volume restriction then it was like "WOW!!!"
Problem is, my 15Gb iPod hard disk gave up the ghost a few weeks back so have now ordered a 5G 60Gb black one so hopefully both the goPod volume uncapper and iTrip will work with it

Have/Had (Friend currently has it) an iTrip on my 4G iPod, worked pretty well, and only had a little bit of a problem on a journey from Toronto to St Louis around the Kitchener/Waterloo area in Toronto.
Depending on your head unit, if it has an aux RCA input then you could simply use a RCA to 3.5 lead and plug in the ipod, so you'd get decent quality.
If you don't have that, but have a CD changer port on the head unit then you could get an adaptor cable, I got one for the Accord from enfig.com. all it plugs into the changer port and gives you an RCA input, so with the aforementioned lead, you can plug in any source that hasa 3.5 output, including an iPod.
The downside to the latter option is I can't plug a CD changer in as well, however, there probably are adaptors that allow that as well, so if you do have a changer then you can use that and the iPod and switch between sources.
