I get the impression the people slating it are saying it falls short of the book, and could have been better...it still might be a good film in it's own right. I've not read the book, so have nothing to judge against.

i saw it last night, havent read the book but the missus has. found it easy enough to understand as it does explain things in it. and i thought it was pretty good, different to what i thought it was going to be like.
apparently there is one or two bits added and missed she said.
good though, but i think you have to be into that kind of film to enjoy it.

i saw it on fri night.
like all book film conversions, it's not going to live up to your interpretation of reading the book.
to fit everything in, the film was really linear and you are led the whole way through. the clues to the adventure are pretty much all there for all to see.
i thought hanks and reno were quite constrained by the screen play.
suzy and i really enjoyed the film tho. a good yarn.
ps, does anyone else think that you could have just frozen the crypt and cut the end off?

Watched it friday, it was OK, nothing special and I wont be buying it on DVD, I expected so much more from it although I think thats because I enjoyed the book so much (Im not a reader either) I think if youve not read the book you'll think its ok, good story line and suprising but if youve read the book IMO you'll be a bit dissapointed, the ending is slightly different to the book too. Few minor changes that peed me off. 2 and a half hours long, 45 minutes into the film I was sat thinking we're at least halfway through the book now so whats gonna happen for the next 1hour and 45..lol

Can't decide whether to go because the god squad have proposed a boycott or whether to boycott it myself because the book was so carp..... Decisions, decisions.
Apathy will almost certainly win and I'll not go.

So does Tom Hanks just play Tom Hanks again?
Poor choice of lead imho (true for any film he has been in )
