24 - anyone else getting a little bored now?
the new season of 24 just hasnt gripped me like the previous ones. Before it was a real struggle waiting a week for the next episode, this time I round I'm not fussed when I catch it.
As the directors are following the same tried and tested story format, you can pretty much exactly guess the plot twists and turns, and even aside from this there seems to be a certain something missing -could be the lack of depth of most of the characters.
Was expecting a lot more, but the current season is pretty much bits of the other 4 rolled into one yawnfest.
And whatever happened to the Chinese with a bounty on Jacks head?
Anyone else finding the same?
Neil

Yep has dragged on a bit but I still watch it. The worst thing is Logan as he just isnt a credible bad guy.
Tbh I am prefferring Lost a lot more at the moment. Only 2 episodes left there as well.

Regarding the Chinese and Jack, I think people forget this is filmed over 1 day. Remember the Chinese think Jack is dead, and have done for the 2/3 years that have supposed to have elapsed btween series 4 and 5. In reality, he's only been "alive" for 22 hours so far this series. in those 22 hours, the Chinese would have had to have:
A: Found out about his existence.
B: Had a man in place to target him
C: Find him
D: Kill him
Thats pretty unlikely, even in a fantasy show like 24.
Personally I think this series is great.

Just put a similar post in on another thread.
I think most of the series have had a few lulls midway. The episodes with Kim coming back were painful, and as the rack wasn't on show, utterly pointless!
Saw the last two episodes last night and the last four episodes or so have been on good form, although they seem to be clutching at straws and just trying to fill time. Although it must be hard to write so much original stuff. Maybe they need to cut it to twelve next time and then jack can only catch then lose the significant bad guy nine times instead of what felt like eighteen!
The ending of this season is very good!!!!!

Hmmmm well, considering there are 4 advert slots of 2-3mins each in each episode or "hour", the entire concept was floored, unless the lead character had a prostate problem and after each set of 3min adverts was seen coming out of a toilet or from behind a bush etc
For each "hour" the audience missed appx 12minutes of show, so over 24 shows 288 minutes - almost 5 hours were unnacounted for
With this wisdom, I was unable to even consider watching something that should have been called "24 minus p1ss stops" or "19hours and 12 minutes"

bold opinion for one of the most popular shows on TV, those Fox people must have missed that shocking concept issue.
