arent i the clever one?
bought a tv from a supermarket last year and put it in my kitchen but after a few days i noticed the rubber feet had left brown marks on the beech work surface and every time i moved the tv there were more marks. it looked like the wood had been burnt....anyway, the long and short of it was i have just recieved compensation for a new work surface...3 times the original cost!! and and ive got the money back for the old tv. they had already refunded the original tv but i have been given it back again

No, you're completely stupid for ruining your worktop.
A prime example of compensation culture in action. I don't see why you should be rewarded in any way for that.

So it did it once and you kept moving it ?
That sounds like female logic, the red oil can shaped light came on so I rushed home as quickly as I could !
I hope you are still so pleased when Tesco's go bust because of what you have done.....

so you bought a crappy TV, ruined your worktop by moving it (many times going on the pictures) and now got rid of the TV and got more £££ from the firm than you deserve.
does that make you clever? not IMO, unless 13 year olds having 4 kids for benifits is clever....it may work as a way of getting cash, but hardly MENSA.

So you bought a crappy TV, claimed it had ruined your worktops and claimed three times what they cost you.
You then sanded down the worktop, so the cost to you was minimal.
Now you want everyone to agree you are 'a clever one'?
Sorry but its not quite the term I would use, even less so when I find out my house insurance policy has gone, up yet again!!!

surely if you were putting anything with rubber feet on what seems to be a 'wood' surface (rather than a cheap laminate) you would realise it would mark? you can get other feet to stick on/over /instead of rubber feet for just such things. i have little 'felt pads' on a couple of Telly's in my house, purely to stop such things.
im also pretty sure your 'clever' comment was said with tongue *firmly* in cheek, Sara?

well we pay enough tax and national insurance on things to keep people on benefits and allow foreigners into this country why shouldnt we get something out of it??? not like its coming out of any of your pockets and i bet you've pulled scams like it but trying to come over high and mighty its only a couple of hundred quid chill out.

Its only a couple of hundred quid!!
Didnt realise that it was only that amount.
So when does it become an issue, please let me know the figure because I would hate to become concerned over too trivial an amount.
PS Actually I do think its coming out of our pockets, the money they pay out is what they collect in premiiums from us.
And the more they pay out, the more they need to .......
(I am sure you can fill the rest in)

FFS you lot
i bought a product that damaged a surface it was on. even if it had left 4 marks(4 rubbers on feet) or 24, does it really matter?
i claimed for compensation which i am rightly entitled to do and got made an offer...i accepted the first one that was made. what i do with the money is up to me and my business. i bet you wouldnt turn down a car insurance quote because it was too cheap.
i pay taxes like the rest of us, so what is the problem here
and it wasnt Tescos, and if it was i hardly think they will go out of business because i made a claim for less than £1000
and some of my comments were tongue in cheek, will you lot stop being si picky

Good for you, you were sold a product that was faulty and you ended being a satisfied customer after they rectified the problem.
Where's the issue? The retailer wants to keep it's customers happy and has compensated SS, as it would any customer in this situation!

I went to the supermarket last week and got 4lbs of apples for £2.55
Today 4lbs of apples cost me £29.50
They had a notice next to them saying
The Tv will go back to Beko and be put in a new box for selling again or the supermarket will sell it off cheap but still make a huge profit
Good for you, with the crap in your life at the moment you need the odd bonus
I think the majority of people would have excepted the same offer.
Is it your fault they were too thick to come out and inspect. Teaches the supermarket a lesson,
DON'T employ idiots

A lot cheaper for them than bad publicity regarding the reliability or safety of their products!
