Threads Asking For Help/Advice
Does anyone else get p!ssed off when someone asks for help and advice (or information) in a forum, and then fails to acknowledge the assistance given? It seems to be happening more and more often. I often wonder why I bother...

It's because you have been advised to support a PROPER football team and STILL support a 'has-been' outfit like Newcastle!!
If you won't take sensible advice then it won't get recognised by anyone

It's sheer ignorance and bad manners, Pete! I suppose these are the very same people that don't say thanks when you hold a door for them, or acknowledge when you let them out from a junction. No standards anymore - it's Blair's MeMeMe Britain!
How're you doing by the way? You're missed in the Sports section.

thank you mate for this thread
It does annoy me though especially when the ignoramuses haven't made any effort at all to find things out for themself, they could at least thank the people that have made the effort.
Google it first before you ask!!!!!

Everyone has questions that they want to be answered, ranging from "do you think my missus is being banged by my neighbour" to "what plants should i have in my rockery"
It keeps the world moving & its all about gaining information, i mean if i didnt ask questions then i might have been stuck in a relationship that wasn't going nowhere, with no trust & my rockery would have been a mess

What bugs me more is you ask a sensible question then get loads of sarcastic, totally useless answers. Personally i'd like a "technical" forum where trivial/sarcastic answers are banned. We started this on another board i'm on and it works well.

some threads really wind me up. Like, what mobile? What bloody washer?
Why dont people just pop downt the shop who deals in said products and look for themselves. Before you guys have a go. The info given is just peoples personal tastes. Least if you go down the shops or look on the internet you can compare prices spec etc.

Fair point Paul, plus you obviously did the right thing, but I wonder how often PMs are sent? I must have given advice or info for half a dozen threads in the last few months and haven't heard a thing since.

I think you are absolutely right Castrol. It is regrettable to see how people these days just assume they have a right to having something being done for them or a bit of help in any respect and can't be bothered to just say a simple "thank you"
I think it is the height of selfishness and pig ignorance.

I offered to give advice on how to fit an AFR gauge to a local guy. Told him to pop round and I would show him. Ended up fitting it for him as he looked confused, but I could only do part of it as my tea was ready! Harly a word of thanks, and not that I would have taken payment, none was offered. No email or PM afterwards to say thanks again.
People's manners never fail to amaze me.
Ive had a go at many a parent displaying bad manners in front of their kids. How the **** are they going to learn any?!
