Default Gobsmacked and Silenced - ME!!

Yes, I thought I had seen everything - experienced everything - and knew eveything ..........

Then, out of the blue, a ScoobyNet member sends me something that shuts me up through sheer utter amazement ...........

This item on eBay holds a lot of fond memories for me ............

I owned this 27 years ago ....... and here it is, in 2006 - For Sale again!!

GOBSMACKED as I thought it would be dead and gone by now!!

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true

How would you feel???

Pete

Before you get silly ideas ....... I did NOT modify the interior - that steering wheel is awful!!

And I had no need for TowBars way back then ......

That car has seen some action .......... it could tell stories that would make your hair curl - I wasn't always as old and helpless as I am now

It's my birthday on 15th June - 78 - would make a nice birthday present

CONFUSED????

Is it TAX exempt? I thought that was 1972 and older? This car is 1973.

Just thought - the car is 33 years old - older than most who post on here

AND, I guess, the Cortina is in better condition!!

It's living PROOF that I KNOW how to look after a car - unlike you kiddies who blow them up weekly

I am still shocked at seeing it again!

As far as the DVLA website is concerned vehicles first registered BEFORE the 1st Jan '73 are exempt, so if the details on his post are correct this car is not exempt.

Either way the car still has to carry a valid tax disc the amount paid section on it just says nil, and the cheeky ***** will still fine you if you don't declare SORN on a pre '73 car

PS Try going on the DVLA website and finding where it tells you what vehicles aren't eligible for tax, they don't make it easy

No one felt the need for CockLinks, Det.Cans., Big Bore Exhausts, Geeks with DetCan ears, in those days .............. when MEN were MEN and GAYS hid their Gold Wheels!!

Any car built (as opposed to registered) prior to Jan 1 1973 qualifies to be a Historic car in the eyes of DVLA, and as such qualifies for zero rated road tax. Originally the cutoff was meant to be a rolling 25 years, but the current Labour government quashed this, setting the cutoff for Historic status as 01/01/73

http://www.vehiclelicence.gov.uk/Evl...vent=link.next

Looks like it is exempt then, nice try

The car could tell a lot of shocking tales of what went on within its steel shell - the owner selling on e-bay has had the car for 20 years, so they have been much more of its history than I ever was ......... but I wasn't married when I owned that car

AHA!!!

Now, some things are becoming clearer!!!

Would that be the Posh Troll that some losers think is me????

Well, I've got news for you ....... he ain't me!!

I could just as well say that all those saddos who think the CockLink actually does anything are the same person - they spout the same crap ....... but I am mature enough to understand that people may have different views to me and there may be more than one!!!

Now, many people share my views, just because you don't like them doesn't mean they are from the same person!! FFS grow up!!

Now, back to my car of 27 years ago!!! ...............
