Quite impressed really. I think each person gave it their all. I do think that ITV weren't prepared for the public entusiasm.

I have to say that if the text messages were 50p and 27p of that goes to charity who gets the rest? It's not like the mobile networks don't have the capacity on a Saturday night.

1. It's football not soccer.
2. Giving prime time tv to Sunday league standard amateur footballers is boring.
3. Giving prime time tv to ex-pro players who need a pitch half that size to do them justice is boring.
4. Just because it's for charity mate does not excuse the above.

Apparently they all got £10,000 and Maradona insisted on £100,000.

How true that is I have no idea.

That's just it isn't it. If the figures are correct, then it does stink really when they ask joe public to donate, and text in.

I'd have thought charging them for yet even more exposure would have been the way to go.

The ledgends did get paid yes. fair enough. they would otherwise be doing these very day of the week. I really enjoyed it. Was a pleasure to see Maradona, Zola, Gazza and Gullit on the pitch.

Best thing Robbie Williams has ever done as I hate the ****.

This is a little different to your normal appearance opportunity. It's an event for the run-up to the World Cup.

Take the Beckams' party, all the guests were charged entry, and the guests entered into the spirit of things by paying well over the odds for the auction items because they could afford to.

I know what you're saying I can just see the reason for getting these guys to play. maybe it's not what we consider to be right but it's not wrong. I'm sure most have done their fair bit for charity over the years,

Exclamation

I only watched it to see Maradona so even if he did get a huge fee,it was worth it. Even though he didn't look that up for it, whenever he got the ball he looked so comfortable. A sporting genuis if ever there was one.
