13 yr old daughter has run up a bill on premium rate numbers of over £100... anything I can do?
Confiscated phone already.
I have seen the advert for the phone number she was calling and it says £1 per min but doesnt say how long the phone call will last.... Do I have a case or not??
Thanks in advance

This happened to my son. He ordered a ring tone and it turned out he had subsribed unawares. By the time the bill came in, they had been charging £3.00 per week. Luckily I spotted it on the next bill and stopped it. I'm not sure how you stand on this one.

Im pretty sure the ICSTIS guidelines for the use of premium rate numbers only cover that the provider MUST state the cost per minute of the call but do not have to state the typical call length.

ICSTIS, in my experience is pretty rubbish. About a year ago thousands of people with dial up, including me, got caught out by some techinical thing (dont understand technology) that got our modems dialing a premium number without us even knowing about it.
ICSTIS advice was..... wait for it...... for us to write to the (Italian) company and ask for a refund. They never did reply.... and BT was about as helpful as a toothpick in an avalanche.

I think you will pretty much have to pay up. I was in a situation once, when i was a student, myself and another housemate had a falling out, to **** me off late at night he rang up sex lines in Tahiti(sp) and just left the phone of the receiver for hours on end.
The BT bill was in my name, i had never made the calls, but i was facing a CCJ for a £1200+ phone calls that i had never made. Ultimatly i had to pay, BT would do nothing, just kept saying "the phone is in your name, you are responsible for the bill".
That was a good few years ago, so things may be different now.

My mate at work made the mistake of letting his 15 year old daughter have a contract phone for christmas ,she ran up a bill of over £350 in 3 months subscribing to jamster and letting her mates use her phone when their payg credit had run out. Needless to say she is no on pay as you go

OK Brumdaisy, so some scumbag puts a dialling programme onto your computer which makes fake calls and it's BT's responsibility when you get a bill for the calls ![Brickwall](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/brickwall.gif)
Same goes for the calls on your phonne line Molko.
Sorry, but you can't blame BT for these scams.
