Default Good work shirts?...

Where can you get decent work shirts from?

Up until now Ive always worn next shirts as they are cheap , about £25, and quite good, but I find that they are very hard to iron and Im a bit sick of them..even the easy iron ones come out of the washer like a rag!

So suggestions please, sub £30 cufflinked shirts please for regular wear...designer name etc not required!

Marks and Sparks for me. Double cuffed Non-Iron shirts about about £25-35 and last ages. Avoid their pure cotton shirts as they are buggers to iron.

I've got Next shirts as well, and like you say, some are horrible to iron and others are fine.

infact if your in my area i might even do it! erm but i have found that next techno cotton shirts are easy to iron or marks and spencers ones

p.s it might help if you use plenty of fabric conditioner

Buying a good iron lmao

steam generator irons are the way forward they range from £100 to £400 but you would never look back at a normal iron after using one good investment and makes life easier

Honestly, it's not worth getting expensive work shirts for my other half. He's worse than the kids for ink stains in the top pockets

Austin Reed is always a good bet. Formal shirts are about £50, but the quality is good and they always iron nicely.

Ive bought a few nice ones in that TK Max shop too - Rael Brook ones with a tie for something like £25-£30, and theyre nice quality too, even if the ties arent great.

Get all my shirts from M+S using the delivery service...mine are cheaper though because they've got no sleeves...also non-iron.

Charles Tyrwhitt all the way - 100% cotton non-iron shirts... that you can genuinely wear straight from the washing machine...

The difference here is that they ARE 100% cotton and ARE non-iron. God knows how.... but it works, and works well.

A little more expensive than your high-street brands but outstanding quality - right down to brass bones in the colour, rather than cardboard in your ultra-cheapies or plastic in the normal stuff.

These really are great, if you want to look the part with minimal effort you can't go wrong.

Just do it...

Once youve spent a bit of brass a Charles Tyrwhitt you then get a catologue monthly with some great offers in!!!! Be careful which ones you get cos they can be a nightmare to iron!!!

Cant go wrong with Thoma Nash @ Debenhams!!! Wait for the blue cross sale and get half a dozen shirts and ties for a ton (ish)

Another option, if you are in the area, is MacartherGlen posh retail park on the A19/A64 junction!!! I cant leave there without five/six new shirts for pennies.....some daft reduction like 75%. Armarni, Valention, Vesace and many more!!! You dont need to be a label ***** they were for example!!

They aren't like normal irons the amount of steam pressure you get out of them is totally amazing, it will get the hardest of creases out, it gives a better finish on clothes and makes them alot softer due to the amount of steam going through them. They are so expensive because they are quite big really and for the amount of parts and functions they have its worth the money. If i told you that i could buy 3 of them irons every day on the money i earn from one of them. test yourself how many items you can do in a hour with a normal iron which roughly it should be about 15 with one of these i can do 30-40 items a hour, it cuts down on ironing time and electric as it uses the same amount as a normal iron the only difference is that it has a thick lead coming from the bottom of it just like the electrical wire coming out of a normal iron but instead of electric passing through it, its pure steam. i would never go back to a normal iron after using one of these. You dont have to use starch on shirts as it presses the material that crisp it stays. I run a ironing service so i know these are the best irons to have ive tried steamers, presses, but nothing gives the finish like one of them. your more than welcome to come round and try our irons if you like
they weigh the same as normal irons too anyone could use them!

(even men!!!!)

www.tmlewin.co.uk are great shirts.

They generally always have a sale on, currently it's 4 for 100 quid, and they are great, great quality. RRP is between 65 and 85 a shirt, never seen them sell for full price. Can't understand the constant sales as they are on a par, if not better than, THOMAS PINK, who are never on sale.

Another vote here for Charles Tyrwhitt as said they regularly send catalogues and always have offers for existing customers (something most retailers fail to do) and price wise yes higher than your high street but quality wise better, just decent shirts from a traditional shirt maker. I dont buy from anywhere else.

Also, Hawes and Curtis 4 for £100. Go to Jermyn Street in London and they all have the same deal. They also have different fits to suit the different waistlines we have
