anyone else have probs with sky reception
my reception is screwed up whenever we have changes in weather or extremes..really pi&^%ng me of now has been over two days this time
another thing that probably dont help is that the dish is pointing at national grid power lines
is there any better hardware out the to improve the prob?
any thoughts or suggestions not obvious or daft ones(like moving) thanks

Sky is a bit fickle or it can be if anything is between your dish and the satellite. We used to have trees and could forget getting a picture in the summer. Now we have no problem.

rhybeck, My Sky has been acting similar for the last two days. It's been fine today however, just as I was about to phone them to see if they had any issues.

My SKY has been crap ever since my neighbours trees got their new leaves and gets even worse when the wind is blowing the branches around. Phoned SKY today and gave them a months notice. Woman on the phoned asked why I was cancelling. I told her about the signal loss due to trees and said I was going back to Telewest. When she told me that Telewest don't do as good packages as they do I replied that if I got one channel with good reception it would be a 100% improvement over Sky.

We always seem to have interference with our picture when it's building up to a thunder storm or when we have heavy winds...
but saying that Paramount+1 is always like it

thought i had it bad but there are obviously some unhappy customers out there the only time sky are likely to get of there *** is when you go to cancel it same as the old gem about u owning the dish and box and having to maintain them yourself.... i say if it screws up they loose a customer or they sort it i had 6 or 7 boxes and about the same amount of l.m.b's when i first got sky was a nightmare i was told rightly or wrongly that they give out repaired boxes to new customers if you get a deal
reception is fine today and look at the weather!!! go figure ??

you *will* get a BRAND NEW box if yours fails within the first 30 days,(90 if you complain bitterly enough) after that point you will get what is referred to as an 'A' grade box.. which is in reality a REFURBISHED box. ie... one that has previously been 'uplifted' from a customers house for being faulty and sent for repair, then returned to 'the field' as van-stock for service call visits all LNB's fitted are new, even on service visits engineers unfortunately can only work with what they're given
