Thumbs up Lee Child - 'Jack Reacher' books

Seem to remember theres a few other followers of Reacher on here, so just wondering whether you've read the latest books from Lee Child?

If so any good?

I'm working my way through them, on my 5th now (Without Fail), and gotta say apart from the last one (which lost the plot a little) they rock!

Anyone else wading through the pages of a Reacher novel?

Neil

ive read a couple...quite liked them i suppose but i think its a case of the author living out his fantasies through his books...i think clive cusslers like that as well...

Yes but still entertaining. Same could be said of Dan Brown, Jack Higgins, Ken Follet & Wilbur Smith

yes, can be a little samey I guess (big man saves poor woman in trouble), but great characters and well paced plots

True enough - got sick to death of Reacher's expolits as I did of Wilbur Smith waxing lyrical about Africa.

Good stuff at the outset though.

Read them all, just finished One Shot - perhaps predictable but still like the style. Other favourite just now is Michael Connelly.

One Shot is pants, I mentioned it on here before. Hopefully just a blip and the next one will be back on track.

Read them all, and whilst like the others have mentioned that they are very samey, they always seem to be an enjoyable read.

Good books.

Jack Reacher is the human version of "The Littlest Hobo", flitting from town to town sorting out problems.
Have to say I enjoy the books though.

Anyone else think Reacher was written with Steven Segal in mind to play the lead in any films?

I've read most of them, have to agree with you that they are excellent. Quite easy reading and yes maybe a little predictable at times but they are always real page turners.

By the way if you like Jack Reacher I would try any of the Elvis Cole novels by Robert Crais.

I think his books are truly superb.

HEY! I was gonna say that!

Also try Christopher Brookmyre, (unless you hate the Scots! ), and for those who aren't mysoginists, Janet Ivanovitch's "Stephanie Plum" novels, very neat and funny too.

I find Michael Connolly novels very disturbing, that guy is seriously "dark".
