Picture frame speakers
Has anyone got a set of heard a set of picture frame speakers? I like the idea of them but was unsure of the sound quality.
I have had a quick look around but they dont seem to be in the shops anywhere so I cant go and have a listen for myself
What about the wires connecting to them as well, seems a bit daft if you can hide the speaker in a picture but have to trail cables up the wall! Wireless? versions?

You have to hide the cables in/behind the walls.
They sound OK, not great, not bad, the idea being you can have a few I.e. 4 dotted around so the sound is everywhere.
Pretty expensive too.

I know that Wharfedale make them.
Looking at them I would expect them to give background music, certainly not a thumping soundtrack.

I was sat in the lobby of the Raddisson Sussex hotel yesterday (by London's Oxford street). They had them and I thought they sounded good. Not sure if they had a woofer hidden somewhere though.

They've always got a woofer hidden somewhere - you can't get any bass from these thin speakers.
Mission are leading proponent of these - called 'NXT' technology.
Have a search for Mission & NXT - shuld turn up a few results.
Mission are well respected Speaker manufacturers so they should be fairly OK I would have thought.

There expensive for a reason tho..But fair enough if you wasnt budgeting for that kinda purchase.
As a transducer there far far far superior to the piston "push/pull" design..
