I thought they were one of the breeds that featured in the immensely feejity, knee-jerk "dangerous dogs" bill of a number of years ago. Remember when a child an hour was getting mauled? - according to the papers.

See #4 linkys...

For the past 15 years the American Pit Bull Terrier has been discriminated against by an out of date law known as the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA) 1991.

This senseless law has ensured that this incredible breed has almost become extinct on the UK shores. The few aging APBT survivors are forced to be registered, muzzled and neutered. For a country which prides itself on being the birthplace of modern democracy its Government continues to act anything but democratic.

Those of us who are supporters of the breed are deprived of owning these dogs because they are "dangerous". There is no such thing as a dangerous dog, only a dangerous owner. Any dog can become dangerous if it is trained to hate and not properly socialised with other animals and humans. Is it not time that Governments introduced legistlation which punishes the human owners and not their dogs when they allow things to go wrong?

Nice one, LG.

Every chav ought to be given one - they will be responsible owners, won't they?

If everything you've written is true, how come someone's breeding them?

dpb, its wheelwright fella

APB's are a very nice looking dog thats why i want one,as posted above its
NOT the dogs fault its gets bad press but the small minded owners who
make them what they are.

Rotties are another dog that gets bad press but you couldn't find a more
loveable and friendly natured breed, BUT in the wrong hands can be quiet
the opposite.

As i said anyone that knows of any pups/breeders please PM me.

I'm about 3 weeks away from a litter of Steyr Aug's. Lovely looking things, fantastic temperament, very easy to look after, and will fart all over an APB if that's your thing.

I'm hoping for about 6-7 of them, PM if your'e interested

Mentally imbalanced, state scroungers, or wannabe gangstas/hoodie wearers/shopping precinct street urchins need not apply

How much do they weigh? Would they be good for biceps curls, bench pressing or what?

Dangerous bredd, they were developed for fighting using the most aggresive dogs. They cannot be trusted, hence the reason for the ban as many turned on people often their owners. These creatures are not pets and not a pure breed either, genetically modified...........
