a tip for cooling your house down...
if you take the loft door off all the hot air upstairs goes into the loft

Sara - careful leaving your loft hatch off while away.
Should a burglar fall through your hole you'll be liable for any compensation for his distress !

BTW the tip for the loft door was on LK Today last week - So Mrs Reality got me to open our loft door. It's one of the new ones that is on a hinge and swings down.
All was OK 'til I got up for a midnight pish only to walk into the ******* thing

another tip - if you have a fan going, don't just plonk it anywhere, stick it infront of an open window so its pulling in cooler air rather than pushing the warm air round the room....

Having no neighbours is another tip. I haven't had a problem sleeping or feeling too hot in the home.
Plenty of field cross-winds ensure you actually get chilly in the night without the duvet.
If I visit friends or family living on estates or anywhere built up, then it's a completely different experience.
