![Question](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/icons/icon5.gif)
Taken the plunge recently with a 42" plasma and got rid of of the Panasonic. The sound on the plasma [LG] quite frankly is sh@te compared to the last TV [with surround] so I want to get a reasonable system.
Don't wanna spend meag bucks.
Any suggestions.

If you are comparing it to the TV and it had built in surround then some of the 'lifestyle' type all in one DVD / amp thingy should more than replicate the sound from your last set up.

£300 should get you something half decent. If theres on near you I would suggest going to Richer Sounds. They are very helpfull and their prices are very good too.

i've got the sony cubes set up. pretty neat for 300 quid.
i used to have a 7 grand ruark (fronts and centre), KEF THX (surround) REL (sub) AV surround system, so I know a little about the quality.
ps, rather spend 7K on a spanking good diving holiday now

I would recommend you include multi region on your spec list. This will allow you to watch movies bought from anywhere in the world (if your likely to do this that is). I would also recommend that you look at a system that supports DTS (Digital Theatre Sound) as IMHO its what sounds the best to my mildly trained hearing through my system (JVC TH V70R Surround System through a Panasonic TX32 PD50C TV). I'm mmore than happy with my little setup.
