Default POLICE POWER...... need help

Hi all any copper in here??
I need info so i can back up my case to the police when stopped.
i got some take away and saw coppers go past me.. they looked at me funny!
then i collected food and drove off to see them parked up.. as i went passed they started following me..
i had my belt on
nothing to drink
nothing to be stopped for..

they followed me for half a mile and stopped me..
I questioned Why ansd they said your car is registered to a female, I answered YES so what.
your a male!! mmm YES well done officer!
whats the problem, well is the car stolen!
haha NO its my sisters and i am second driver..
Then he started being cocky and wrote everythign out.. BUT also asking my passenger his details. (NEVER HAD THAT BEFORE)
i answered all producing my driving licience.
I questioned Why he followed.. he said cos your car is a lady registered.. i said NO.. thats what you desc0overed After not first..
he wouldnt tell me.
I want to know how to argue back to them..
the car and myself are 100% legal and i feel i was victimised.
There was NO need to stop me.. i didnt seem drunk nor any reason to be stopped.
ADVICE needed.. If there is a book or artical i can read that would be ideal.. i want to be able to argue my innocense

Get over it mate. The police are checking up on Scooby's because of their high theft rate.

Sign of the times. Everyone is guilty until you can prove otherwise...

"the car and myself are 100% legal and i feel i was victimised."

Crap answer, but would you feel better or worse if you car was stolen and was being driven lawfully and the police stopped the criminal in it for no apparent reason other than to stop a car out late?

Perfectly legitimate pull IMHO. The car is registered to a female and being driven by a male. They only have access to limited info on whether it is insured or not, not exactly who else may be named on the policy. Only advice I can offer you is to be as civil and helpful as possible to them and they'll reciprocate usually. If you had done something naughty, it is often an idea to not produce your license even if it's tucked away in your wallet. If they're undecided as to whether to simply bollock you or properly do you, they have more work to do when they get back to the station if your license isn't presented and this will sometimes sway their decision in your favour if you choose not to show them it

Eh?

It’s just a producer - not too much trouble. If there are any offences they will report you there and then. Then it’s a quick file once you produce (or don't produce) your documents.

At the end of the day, the police have a power to stop any vehicle on the road to check its legality and that of its occupants. Best thing to do is play it cool and don't lie.

The ones I let go with a verbal warning are the ones who tell the truth. "I'm sorry, I did catch the red light' 'Sorry I was speeding, but I’m running late'

If you take it lying down then you shouldn't be surprised if people use you as a door mat son. They'll screw you over good and proper, make no mistake!

In my day if the filth gave us trouble we'd have someone wait outside the nick after the shift and follow them home. It was the young ones usually, the more experienced knew when to leave well alone but by God you'd be surprised how compliant they became.

You young people today have got no spine. Pathetic.

OK - next time you are stopped and you have blatantly gone through a red light, protest you innocence and see what happens......

I ain't bothered either way - its you that will get the points and who’s insurance will go up

DCI - people tend to say sorry as they see us as representatives of the law.

i found this to be an untrue statement.i was out with a couple of mates and we were just sat in the car havin a wee blether when the police rolled up(late nite, empty carpar, lime green car, young driver) they came over and asked us a few questions like what you doing here at this time of night? ,can i see the ashtray? etc and while one of them was havin a wee chat with my mates i heard the others radio and it was a woman who was giving the polis manny all my details including details of the insurance policy and who was all on it. once they were fine with the fact the car was registered to me and it was my insurance policy then they left.

other than that ive never had any trouble with the police.

Ark at you load of girls! I'm a copper working the streets and drive a nice fast Scooby. If i get caught breaking traffic law then i get caught, do the crime do the time! We get in alot more ****e than joe Bloggs in the street does if we commit traffic offences. We all speed, thats just life. It's abit like "Eddie". He's a typical example, There are ******* everywhere not just in the Police. Now "Eddie" is your everyday Primate. He most likely wears big gloves with leather patches to avoid his knuckles dragging on the floor! . Following Police Officers home is taken very seriously and we are fortunate enough to have the law on our side. If harrassing the average Dumb *** for following us home every minute of the day does not do the trick, winding them up and kicking the **** out of them when they play up works, At least for me anyhow
