unwanted baby (not mine!!)
someone i know has got pregnant without the boyfriends knowledge(behind his back, on purpose) and wants to keep the baby. the girl is prepared to see a solicitor and make a statement saying that she got herself pregnant on purpose knowing that the B/F didnt want any children. she is willing to say that she accepts full responsibility for the baby and will not make any financial demands on the would be father during the childs childhood.
will this prevent any agencies saying he is responsible for the childs upkeep during its dependent years?
only sensible replies please

Anyway - to be clear when she went behind his back - with someone else?
Is he the genetic father?
Why does she need to see a solicitor?

If she wants to have the kid and can support it herself then there shouldn't be a problem. If she tries to claim benefits either from him or the state in future then the CSA will probably get stuck in

definately not mine. she got herself pregnant cos the relationship was nearly over and has admitted that she thought she would be able to win him back with a supprise baby. he has always said he didnt ever want children and she was on the pill, but she stopped taking it without asking him first and got pregnant. she now knows that she has got no chance of having a relationship with him and wants to do the right thing. she wont have an abortion, she wants the baby.
surely if you are tricked into something and it can be proved a statement or something would work

Do the Agencies need to get involved at all?
If the father refuses to pay anything but the mother is perfectly happy with this and doesn't want his money anyway then that should be that.
Or does she think she may change her mind some time in the future (possibly if her circumstances change). If this is the case irrespective of whats on file I imagine the childs welfare is the priority and the Agency would insist that the father contribute accordingly.
Of course the boyfriend may be over the moon that he is going to be a father when it all comes out...............you never know.

Jasey I was writing when the other replies were posted.
Shame if the relationship is all but over and she should be ashamed that she's gone to such lengths to try and keep her man. That said birth control is a two way thing.............just because a woman says she's on the pill so what. Men have a responsibility too!!!
Bet the boyfriend will be livid though. Ouch!

Even if she hadn't stopped taking the pill there is still always the risk (even if it is massively reduced) that she could have got pregnant.
Bottom line is that he is the father and if the State has to pay out they will want a contribution from his pocket.

Sounds like she's covering her back by telling the agencies. So when she's living in squaller only on benefits she can change her mind, and claim money off a poor bloke she tricked into giving her a baby.
She'll then be happy that the bloke cannot afford to live the life he wants.
Sounds like a nice girl
Obviously the CSA will go gunning for him, as he's an easy target.

Has she considered saying that she doesn't know who the father is when she completes the birth certificate - just say she attended a gang bang with 40 anonymous guys and it could be any of them

its discusting that you can have a baby through deception and you get rewarded for it
