Any football experts out there??
I dont follow football, so dont know the ins and outs of the leagues, but was asked by the other half how a team were doing. because i dont know much about the league system, other than they change the name every year so all teams end up in the top league
anyway i notice that rotherham have had 10 points deducted and are now at -3 in league 1
anyone know why??

Yup, new rule that came into play 2 years ago that all teams who enter administration lose 10points at the start of the next season, its to try and keep clubs wages in check, went hand in hand with the wage capping guidlines.

Yep, it's the financial administration clause.
It was brought in after both Grimsby Town and Leicester City got into financial difficulries whilst in the old First Division, (now the Championship).
Grimsby honoured their debts, sold players, cut wages etc etc, and ended up in League Three, two divisions down, where they now reside to this day.
Leicester, however, went into admistration, honoured no debts, paid nowt for the Walker Stadium, but somehow appear now to own it free and clear, and have no debts. They also got promoted that year!
The Walker Stadium cost the company that made it a LOT of jobs!
