What are peoples views on the best styling company for Peugeot? My personal feeling is that Ecosse are one of the better ones but I am considering buying a 106 GTi soon and want to make sure.

my mate has a 106 rallye. ecosse are the best i'd say from what i have seen. he had a 306 before and ecosse did the mods on that.

where u from?? i will get him to race ya!!!

he has a very nice rear roof spoiler with indicators built in to the sides (very smart!!!).

if u r over fife way, i have a mate who will tint ur windows and do any kind of ice install u want.

anyway, feel free to mail me back

Cheez Geez,

Unfortunately Essex is quite a way from Scotland but if Ecosse can do the business for the right price I have relatives up there - maybe pay them a visit.

What were Ecosse like on Pricing?

i can try find out prices if you tell me what ur after.

essex is a fair distance, but when u see some of the cars at ecosse u wont be disappointed!!!

what colour is ur 106?? they have done several nice gold gti's with full kits.

my mate payed £140 to get a pipercross induction kit and lowered all round on 15's.
his spoiler was a couple of hundred i think, indicators really look the part.

Yeah man,

I like the clear indicators in the spoiler that Ecosse do. Their website is ****e though! Doesn't show off enough stuff!

I quite like the Quicksilver bodykit they've got but it might be a bit over the top.

he has gone for the same roof spoiler tho!! and might actually have modded the front end using the 206 bumper.

Having a 106XSI and a 106GTI before the scoob, I was tempted more than once by ecosse, but I came across as many bad stories as good stories about them, at least in the performance modding side of things. If you are just getting styling mods and maybe a bit of lowering then go for it, but I wouldn't personally use them for power mods.... Just my opinion......

Toyed with a couple of WRX's and a uk one or 2 when I had her. Shocked the pants off the drivers on standing starts, but once I hit 70, the WRX's still had a lot of power to go, whereas the power started to tail off a bit over 1st and 2nd 4th and 5th are no comparison. The UK scoobs, on the other hand were a different matter. In standard form, there was virtually nothing between them. They had more grunt 60-90 than me but lower and higher than that, it was a dead heat (On private runway :cough

The 106 is a phenomenal car IMO and still my fav car out of all that I have owned

I don't race, I play I have played with a newer one before and beat it without any problems, but lovely cars. You need to know the right rev range to change in the gears to get the best out of them. I have driven both the old and newer models, but didn't like the 'basicness' of either. I was lent a 306 Rallye for the day at Racelogic while mine was having work done and that was fun. More power above 60 than mine and the sixth gear as well. Still didn't like the lack of creature comforts though.......

Cheers,

Nick.

Edited to say that she used to have standard VTS's for dinner!

nick,

thats interesting to hear. i have bin in his car many a time and have not met any gti owner who has beat it yet.

his is a 98 R plate. and i agree totally, the basicness is really poor but at the end of the day its a rallye and u get a wee pocket rocket go cart for your money!!!
i think i would have to get it kitted out in nice leather seats and bigger white alloys but its a quick wee car.

i was gona buy it off him, but sadly im a bit big to squeeze into a wee car like that and when i drove it, i found the pedals to be a nightmare!!!

if anyone is interested, he would prob sell it for about £6000.

cheers

Dude. I am 6'6" and 18stone and drove both without problems! You just get used to the pedals....
My opinion at least. Georgeous cars, shame mine was damaged by the previous owner....

Nick
