Pm me if you wish, We Hired an A frame from a well known hire company to lift out slabs of concrete, the A frame has a swl or wwl of 2 ton and lifted out the first 3 blocks fine, on the 4th block ( heavy'est I might ad) the aluminium frame bent (pictures can be sent if required) not the top bar but the A frame section, they sent their engineer out who said the slab was overweight and returned with a set of calibrated scales, the block was heavy but only weighed in at 1.93, he did say a couple of the bolts where not tightened but it does come part assembled and the bolts mentioned where not the ones we had to tighten, they are sending us a bill for over £1000 for the repair!!
Question is!!! what do we write in the letter denying all resonsability for the failure of their equipment, also the 1 day hire charge they have already sent us when they delivered at 12.30 and the frame bent before 2.30 the same afternoon.
Thanks in advance
