Here's a good one for you.
If I right click on 'my computer' select properties and then select 'performance' and click 'graphics' I get the 'advanced graphics settings' window, which allows me to change the hardware acceleration.
What exactly does this option actually do?
The reason I ask is that I have a problem with ATi cards. If it's set on full then when into outlook 6, and select 'new mail' the icons for cut copy patse, etc... are all corrupted.
If I switch the acelleration to none, volia, problem solved. some other apps do similar wierd things, eg; leaving artifacts behind when you drag an item around.
So, as said above, what does this option actually do, I feel that the setting is the reverse of what it should be.

when it is set to full it farms out some processing to the CPU when idle and takes shortcuts (using info from the last scan to redraw the screen). When you set it to none it completes each step on its own for each scan. Slower, but sure to work
