Why is pork cheaper than beef?
As per title, really.
Steaks are always expensive compared to pork chops, and pork mince seems cheap compared to beef.
Anyone know what's so different between cows and pigs to account for the difference?

Pigs have proportionately more meat on them
Pigs are cheaper to rear (feed, accomodation etc)
Cows have 'premium' cuts and breeds ie fillet steak and aberdeen angus etc.

The above information is based on spending two years of saturdays working in a local butchers slinging offal on the ceiling to see who's would stay up the longest, whilst you stood directly below your 'sling'. Which was then scooped off the floor and onto the shop floor
