With Bush facing humiliation at the elections in a few days perhaps the only way he could save face might be a home grown terrorist attack to "prove" the necessity of his anti-terror strategy.
So my twisted mind wonders if just such a thing might be "arranged". I guess not actual American deaths but perhaps a plot "discovered" - say a Muslim cell planning to kidnap American high schools kids? Something to get to the American psyche?
So could USA politics sink this low or have I been watching too much Spooks? dl

The Gettysburg address....
"Govt of the people, by the people, for the people" ?
My @rse. I wouldn't put anything past these w@nkers.
I was watching Question Time last night and Charles Clarke said people could opt out of "big brother" by not having a bank account, not having credit cards, not leaving the country etc. ie, having no electronic footprint.
What fecking planet do these people live on? Unless your part of the black economy, you can't get paid unless you have a bank account!!!
And I wont even start on the Green taxes debate they had.
Rant over.
If only I could convince my missus, I'd be one of those 500 people leaving this God forsaken **** hole of a country.

Oz would be ok if you can afford to start a business or have a profession.
My hubby has a dream of moving to Spain. Im put off because I speak very little Spanish and have no real profession. I don't want to work in a English/Spanish bar until I retire.

wasnt expensive when I was out there 3 years ago - about 100-150K (depending on area) for a 3 bed bungalow with a decent amount of land. I dont call that expensive. Wouldnt have thought it had changed that much in 3 years...

Having just sold 2 properties in NZ and one in the UK I would say that property in NZ is about one third the price of UK property.
(and unlike Australia, there are no NZ troops in Iraq)
