Off to the rugby today. Any one know of any good safe car parks not a million miles away from the ground ?

The closer you get, the more traffic you will encounter!!

READY who are a charity who help disabled children with sports have access to a car park about 10-15 minutes walk away from the stadium.

The parking is in a business park, but it is with the agreement of the owners. I use to help out READY there and I have not heard of a car theft or break in there. I have regularly parked there myself when the rugby has been on.

It will cost a £5 for a car, and a bit more for mini buses but all the money collected goes to a good cause.

Map of United Kingdom | Multimap.com

When you get there and pay your money, you will be given information about the charity and a map to the stadium.

Went to the Stones concert at Twickenham - you would have to be stark raving mad to drive there (I was on a bike)

Ref was a french **** England got whupped and to top it off having left 15 minutes before the end of the game the car park I paid £25.00 to park in was blocked by a police van who refused to let me out. Streets were deserted but he kept everyone shut in until 1.5 hours after the game. A 1.5 hour journey then took five hours thanks to the usless thick as pig **** UK police. Their only effort at traffic management was to block people in the car parks for hours then let everyone out at the same time. I have been to events with 60 thousand people that were clear in 45 minutes these dozy retards at twickenham pretty much did all they could to cause a traffic jam.
UK Police really are thick useless *****.

Bit of a generalisation, based on one experience.

Maybe you're the thick one for driving to an event with 70 odd thousand people, in one of the most congested areas in the UK?

Just a thought

I have quite a lot of experience to base it on as it happens but this is not the thread to list them on. Without Police **** ups I would have been nome 3.5 hours sooner. I don't expect to be blocked by a police van for no apparent reason for 1.5 hours. If I had left at the same time as 82000 other people I would be thick. I left long before that to take advantage of empty streets but piggy diddn't lke that and wanted to be a jobsworth.

England didn't lose, the All Blacks won...

...convincingly

Even an English referee would not have saved England - they have been rubbish since winning the World Cup!

I have never paid to park at Twickers and have never been more than ten minutes walk from the ground. Arrive reasonably early and there are a couple of streets where you can always park. Feel sorry for the locals on these days but don't park over driveways or block anyone in - it is a free(ish) country

Yes in the end the public always pays for Police ineptitiude fact of life I guess. Just a shame when its something more serious than parking and there stupidity and greed gets people killed.

The worst thing must be that you didn't even get to see a game of football for your trouble, just a load of fat blokes chasing an egg.

Got a corporate invite to the South Africa match in a couple of weeks.

I'll be getting the train to properly "enjoy" the game

When you've been drinking all day, the last thing you need are bloody cars on the road to contend with.
(Next time, drive on the pavements it'll be less congested, or take a boat & sail on the rivers of urine.)
