I need a piece of alluminium/alloy 20x20cm & 1cm thick to undertake a little fabrication plan of mine. Can anybody suggest any places that might sell me what I'm after? I've searched the net but had no luck. I dont think places like B&Q have this type of thing.

It depends what part of the country you are in but Kellysearch should put you in the right direction if you search for aluminium sheet then narrow down the search by location.

I just tried the kellysearch thing & there is a place in Telford I can get some from tomorrow.

I think RS do stuff like this - I've certainly bought stainless steel rods from them in the past and I seem to remember seeing sheet metal as well. Try rswww.com.
