Depends on what you want to gain?
If you go to the gym and want to gain muscle it'll be hard but at this time of year I like to take the point of view of eat anything and everything.....(food wise )
And when you can't eat, have a protein shake.....just go for mass dude.....

I'm having the same trouble, I'm only 8 and a half stone now, I don't want to be overweight but I feel in myself that I would feel alot better if I could maybe be about 9, I've never been this weight before so it doesn't feel right for me. My doctor says its the right weight for my height, but that's not the point, that doesn't make me feel better!
Sounds strange coming from a female, wanting to put weight on but there's more to it than just my weight before there's any sarcastic troll comments.

My wife's only 7 1/2 stone and finds it hard to gain weight. Though whe tries hard not to mention it to other women .... She also eats more than me. Just put it down to genetics. And just stuffing your face will just make you put o weight where you don't want it. Do some weight training to add more tone and muscle.

I eat loads! believe it or not, I love chocolate and I'm forever eating it, I can pile a full plate of dinner in to me plus have snacks, not all healthy either, have takeaways etc and there's no weight goes on anywhere, not even where you wouldn't want to gain any, I'm only 5ft4 aswell, but I'm on the thin side of normal so my doctor says, whatever that means.

Sing along !!
McDonalds, McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and a Piza Hut.
Eat junk food, drink pints of Lager, and just like the rest of us, you'll be overweight and have a nice beer belly to boot.

Dr. Nick: Hi everybody!
Homer+Bart: Hi Doctor Nick!
Nick: Now there are many options available for dangerously
underweighted individuals like yourself. I recommend a slow
steady gorging process combined with assal horizontology.
Homer: [pensive] Of course.
Nick: [points to a chart] You'll want to focus on the neglected
food groups such as the whipped group, the congealed group
and the chocotastic!
Homer: What can I do to speed the whole thing up, Doctor?
Nick: Well...be creative. Instead of making sandwiches with
bread, use poptarts. Instead of chewing gum, chew bacon,
heh...
Bart: You could brush your teeth with milkshakes!
Dr. Nick: Hey, did you go to Hollywood Upstairs Medical College too?
And remember, if you're not sure about something, rub it
against a piece of paper. If the paper turns clear, it's
your window to weight gain. Bye bye, everybody!

I remember that episode. Vent gasses? Give me a "Y", wow, i've just trippled productivity.
Just like StiLover said really. Do no exercise, not even walking. Drink alcohol everyday, fry-up/croissants & jam instead of coco-pops, white bagguettes, pastry, and all the other suspects.

Or, get yourself to the gym. Do heavy weights, low reps and build some muscle on you.

eating maccie d's will only give you a big belly, you wont put on much weight anywhere else meaning you will be skinny and looking like your pregnant. Your genetics will keep you thin for all your life, the only way you can put on weight around your arms legs etc is if you pick up those weights.

Good advice. Your metabolism and genetics (ectomorph) are what keeps you thin. Don't overeat it won't get you anywhere. Just follow a basic weight training routine and eat in small amounts and regularly. As you get older your metabolism will slow down and allow you to gain weight. I was six foot tall and nine and a half stones until I was eighteen, then in a year I gained three stones! Just don't try to rush your body.

as the 2 posts above
get down the gym 3-4 times a week lifting heavy weights and start a high intake of protein based food. supplements like creatine and whey protein will assist.
i have a natural weight of 12 stone but when i start training hard with the protein and creatine my weight rises to over 13 stone. if you can genuinely put the effort in you will see results.

I had the same problem, but in a year i have gone from 10 1/2 stones to just over 12 stones.
The secret here train hard and eat every 2 hours including protein shakes. The weight you will add will mostly be muscle with a bit of fat, spending too long in the gym is detrimental to weight gain.
The maximum you want to spend in the gym is about an hour if you are looking to gain weight, any longer and the opposite will have and your body will use stored fat and muscle.
Banny

Protein protein protein all day long!
I'm the opposite body type to you so losing weight is tricky but the consellation is building muscle's fairly easy!
decent amount of protein shakes/bars etc will cost a fair bit to maintain though, bars can be over £2 each, 3 times a day 7 days a week soon adds up!
as said, high weight/low reps at the gym too

Drink RAW eggs + milk (makes your farts stink though), and eat plenty of fried chicken legs etc,...
This is the quickest way (body builder told me thats what they do).

There are better and tastier sources of protein than raw eggs. I stand by what I say avoid raw eggs, they are hard to digest and can cause stomache upsets. The egg is encased in the shell therefore is in contact with the salmonella.
