Hello
Just saying Happy Thanksgiving to all our American friends (even if they can't spell properly).
I'm going to try and cook something like Sweet Potatoes or Pecan Pie for my children to internationalise them.

Sweet potato? You mean Yams, sir!
I am slowly being Americanised, although I absolutely refuse to give up the English language!!!
My wife is away for "the holidays" so I am off to a neighbours house for turkey and all the trimmings!
The yokels see it as "bigger than Christmas" as I think they see it as more "authentic", I don't like to ruin things for people so I never mention how it's supposed to be an end of harvest festival, but if they were harvesting New England in November, there'd be rock all to eat!

Hello
I do indeed mean Yams, and just finished dinner. Green Bean Casserole, Sweet Potatoes, Roast Potatoes, Spinach, Turkey and corn bread stuffing. Followed by Pecan Pie.
All very nice, apart from the Yams which living up to their American name are much too sweet for me.
