Years ago myself and three mates went from Glasgow to Birmingham for the Autosport show at the NEC. Drove down parked in hotel car park near NEC.
Got ready for night out, taxi to Birmingham, few beers some food, club , then rounded each other up for the return to hotel.
Not one of us could remember the name of hotel/where it was/the name of the village near the NEC (we were merry but not hammered).
Spent four hours in taxi looking for the hotel with the blue M5 parked in the carpark.Driving around in despair one of us had the bright idea of walking in front of the taxi (pressing the plip for the alarm, hoping we would hear it)as we could not see up the drives of all of the hotels to the car parks.
Eventually found it and paid the taxi (£200ish I think).
ps when leaving for NEC in the morning the BM would not start as we had flattened the battery in the keyfob during the night
