Its come to the time that I need to get a mortgage I have my own Limited company with myself being the sole director. I take a basic wage as well as a yearly dividend. I can borrow enough using just my wage figure (without the dividend) so can I go for a normal mortgage instead of a self cert?
or will the mortgage bank class me as self employed?

How long have you been trading as a Ltd. Co. ?If its less than three years or have no up to date I.R. returns you might struggle unless you are only borrowing a very small percentage.

Ltd company is about 4.5 years, I can pay myself any amount (with in reason) on a wage but I don't for tax reasons, I only really take what I need which isn't much. I will have around 20% deposit for the house but wanted to start paying myself a proper wage now so that I can generate the necessary paperwork that I will need to produce.
how far back will the mortgage companies normally want? 3 mths/6mths or more?

My missus had the same prob - she owned limited co, was sole owner and director and paid herself a min wage. When she tried to get mortgage it was loads of hassle and she had to provide her company accounts/prove that she could easily pay herself more. The mortgage co classed her as self employed.
