If You Think Labour Have Been Hard On You ..
You may wish to note the following:-
Although fuel duty is going up 1.25p per litre from midnight and air passenger duty from £5 to £10 for most flights, Mr Brown rejected demands FROM THE TORIES to re-link petrol prices to inflation.
Remember, it was the TORIES who invented the fuel price escalator - and it was New Labour who REMOVED it!
TORIES = MORE TAX
LABOUR = FAIR TAX!

My Council tax £400 when Labour came to power.
£1500 now. Makes the fuel duty seem trivial.
£40 month dentist as no NHS any more.
NI up 1%
And Labour wont raise taxes will they

I suspect it is NOT for only you as DenPlan does not go that high AFAIK.
AND, why not be sensible and put that £40 a month into an account and pay for work out of that!? It is £1440 every 3 years (the average time for requiring genuine dental treatment) ................ even at todays money, thats a LOT!!
And if you go, say, 6 years without needing work, then you have a pot of £2880 to cover any costs!!
Its so simple it hurts!
MUGS pay monthly!

I think the governent needs a damned good shake up and have someone who will do what's right for britain, and the british, instead of letting all our traditions go, for fear of upsetting minorities.

I just wish lewis would understand that most people with a brain know that he's a 40 year old loser rather than a 78 (?) year old mentor. Lewis, suck on mine for a while m8'y. It'll calm you down, trust me

My Inner Tosser is telling me to vote Tory...
BBC NEWS | Magazine | Bling voters
THE ADVERT: Inner Tosser, from the Conservative Party
THE BRIEF: Raise the issue of personal debt , without looking like it's come from the Conservative Party
THE SCHTICK: Normal bloke is assailed by his "inner tosser", a wide boy in a turquoise suit, who persuades him to spend spend spend on his credit card - clothes, jewellery, flat screen TV, car etc.
THE BREAKDOWN: This advert has had a pretty bad press. One columnist wrote that it had "all the charm of a 'grooming' programme for naive young voters who unintentionally find it on the internet thinking it's a basket of animated puppies, and the next thing they know they're being lectured on social responsibility". Other commentators have questioned the use of the word "tosser". Last week in the Commons, Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott attempted to turn the term back on to the Tory benches. Others have pointed out that at least this has established the word counts as Parliamentary language.

"Because we've had Labour Government not Tory Government, we have seen impressive achievements for our people.
And all of it is built on the sturdy foundations of a stable, growing economy and low unemployment, delivered by Gordon Brown.
This means a new life for millions of people. I think of what it means for my own City of Salford. In the 1980s, unemployment blighted the whole city. In 2 wards, half the men were unemployed. Public services were run down. The council didn't have the cash to make the repairs and improvements that were needed. Crime was rife.
Twenty years ago, Salford was filled with the sound of demolition, the wrecking ***** wiping out the industrial base.
The quays were a waste ground. Communities under pressure. People without hope.
Today, cranes fill the skyline, there are more people employed in Salford Quays than when it was a working docks. And soon the BBC will relocate to Salford Quays, bring a new wave of opportunities, jobs, and investment into the heart of a City which those Tories couldn't even find on a map.
It is not confined to Salford, either. Look around the great cities of Britain, go to Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Cardiff or Newcastle,
and you can see a new confidence, a new Renaissance.
The British entrepreneurial spirit flourishing against a backdrop of economic stability and renewed public services.
This transformation of our cities,
of our economy,
of the prospects for our young people,
is no accident of history;
no fluke of fortune.
