Angry Confused.Com and junk e-mails

I very rarely give out my personal e-mail, in fact I never do - only friends and family have it.

I accidentally put it in the confused.com quote machine - BUT I said that they were NOT to share my details 'with carefully selected 3rd parties'!!!!

What happens?? My foookin private e-mail account is now being spammed!! *******S!!!!

BEWARE if you use confused.com!!

Confused are horrendous. I use a specific mail for each of the things I use and I'm still getting crap to the confused@ address I used and that's four years ago.

Ah, the problem is that you said no to them giving your address to "carefully selected 3rd party companies"

You also needed to say no to them giving your address to "dodgy spammers who pay us a fair price for email addresses"

I used confused.com a while back and get NO spam. MAybe you accidentally checked the send me spam rather than don't. Remember some boxes are opt-IN and some are opt-OUT.

Anyway, if you can prove that the spams came from confused 3rd party (phone one of the companies that have spammed you and ask for details, freedom of information act etc.) then they have failed teh data protection act and are up the swanny. Phone them and complain, it could have been a simple mistake when they generated the e-mail lists. They can then forwad you details to all the 3rd parties to stop them sending more.

Is it a scam to sell your information to spammers I wonder. You could maybe threaten them with legal action.
