Default Toll roads...useless

Every morning I sit in traffic watching lorries nose to tail on the A5 running adjacent to the Toll road just to avoid paying £7 or whatever.Toll is pretty empty and been open a while now.

Think this proves the country would grind to a halt if pay per mile came in.Especially if hauliers can't afford a few quid now.

Half baked idea and as annoying as me sorting my recycling to save council workers a job and not getting a council tax reduction

Sorry,annoying morning in the traffic

I'd LOVE to be able to sort my refuse. Our council reckons it can't recycle plastics or cardboard, (unless WE pay to take them to a central recycling area, when it suddenly CAN )

Our main bin is only emptied every two weeks, many's the time I've had to jump up and down in it to get more rubbish in.

Oh, and they just announced that our council tax will ONLY rise by 5% next year TWICE the supposed rate of infaltion? WTF is THAT all about?

have you heard the latest suggestion??

Put all the number plates into categories then allow half the population to drive one day then the other half to drive the next day...

Haha, they tried that in Greece many years ago. All that happened? People just went out and bought a cheap shed with the 'other' numberplate on it. Result? More old cars on the road and no reduction in traffic.

Spend our road fund tax which they have plundered for so many years now on a decent road system over the whole country.

We drink a lot of bottled water here- all evian usually.
They won't take any water bottles for recycling, as they get too many of them left out and don't have the room

Nothing to do with congestion, all to do with the exchequer balancing the books. Revenues from North Seal oil over the next 10 years are set to plummit. the government require a large scale stealth tax that will hit virtually everyone.

Notice the Tories have stayed quiet around this. It will be every future governments problem. Governments need people to stay on roads to extract tax revenues, there will never be investment in public transport on a major scale.
